When Pain Keeps Coming Back
Have you ever treated an injury or painful area, only to have the same problem return a few weeks or months later?
Recurring pain can be frustrating, especially when you feel like you've already tried everything.
Sometimes the area that hurts isn't the only place worth looking at. The way we move, compensate for an old injury, or put repeated stress on certain parts of the body can all contribute to ongoing discomfort.
This is one reason I take time to assess how the body is functioning as a whole rather than focusing only on where the pain is felt.
For example, someone experiencing recurring lower back pain may also have restrictions or movement patterns elsewhere that are contributing to the problem. Looking at the bigger picture can help identify factors that may otherwise be overlooked.
Manual osteopathy uses hands-on assessment and treatment to address restrictions and imbalances that may be affecting how the body moves and functions.
If you're dealing with pain that keeps coming back, it may be worth asking a different question: not just “Where does it hurt?”, but “Why does it keep happening?”
If you're unsure whether manual osteopathy may be appropriate for what you're experiencing, I'm always happy to have a quick conversation by phone or email.
Best,
Zarko
