What length of treatment should I book?
For a first time appointment we recommend booking a 60-min appointment to leave enough time for a full manual osteopathy assessment and treatment. For follow-up appointments we recommend the following:
- 15-min osteo treatment: this is for a quick fix, such as a neck or hip correction
- 30-min osteo treatment: this is a good follow-up treatment where you need one or two known issues addressed
- 60-min osteo treatment: this is for more complex problems, or if you'd like a holistic check-up on multiple health issues
What should I wear for my osteo treatment?
We recommend wearing sportswear or looser clothing for your manual osteopathy appointments.
Should I stop seeing other medical practitioners?
No - unless you want to of course! Manual osteopathy works in unison with other medical services such as chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture and athletic therapy. Each person's health is individual, so we highly recommend you keep seeing the health practitioners that keep you feeling great.
Are treatments painful?
No. Manual osteopathy is a gentle medical modality. There should never be any pain during a treatment. Sometimes soft tissue work can feel a bit tender (similar to a massage) however Zarko will keep in touch the whole time to ensure any discomfort is minimized.
Do you do any sudden cracking or snapping of the joints?
No. The manual osteopathic method Zarko uses mobilizes the joints in a gentle way where the client is always in control. Using these techniques, the bones and joints align slowly without any snapping or popping. Many clients report great relief and lasting results after their treatment.
