A Manual Osteopathy treatment is done with clothes on. We recommend clients bring comfortable clothes such as sportswear. During a treatment you can expect:
- A full assessment of your overall health
- Hands-on therapy with interactive movement which could include gentle twisting, pushing, turning or stretching
- A continual conversation about your specific issue(s)
- Lasting results with few sessions
Zarko is trained in the four primary modalities of Manual Osteopathy:
- Bone and joint alignment: pain can be the result of a bone or joint coming out of its normal alignment. Zarko uses a gentle technique called Lensen™ to guide it back to place. There is no snapping or sudden movement. It's a gentle and effective technique. Common bone and joint issues are found in the hips, neck, or ribs.
- Soft tissue treatment: soft tissue or "fascial" treatment works at a deep level to treat the whole chain of tissue. Oftentimes pain shows up further from the original source than you'd think. Fascial treatment can unlock chains of tissue and is known to provide immense relief from issues like tennis elbow, carpel-tunnel, or knee pain.
- Craniosacral therapy: craniosacral deals with the cranium, the sacrum, and the spinal column. Our brains are housed within a dural tube, which encloses and protects our brain and spinal cord. Craniosacral therapy frees up anything that is restricting the dural tube, as well as the nerves which exit the spine. It's great for a variety of issues, some of which include insomnia, headaches, emotional stress, spinal cord injuries, or fibromyalgia.
- Visceral treatment: "viscera" means "organs". Visceral treatment gently moves the organs and the connective tissue that surrounds them in order to restore their normal function. Common issues Zarko can treat are digestive problems, abdominal cramps, IBS, or fertility problems.
